The reason I liked this book enough was because of her morally grey character. Our main girl is pretty smart and she can sometimes be cruel. Like, it's not like "holy shit this beautiful thing is life" but it's also not like "ew trash." There are so many mixed opinions on this book but I honestly think it's pretty good. After all, who better for a Shadow King than a cunning, villainous queen? As attempts on his life are made, she finds herself trying to keep him alive long enough for him to make her his queen-all while struggling not to lose her heart.
